How much does it cost to build a new home?
A.
There are numerous factors that can affect the cost of your
new home. It can cost as much or as little to build as
your budget allows, beyond the basic cost of building materials.
However, there are items that can quickly drive up the cost
of building like selecting granite or marble counter tops over
traditional laminate. Standard cabinets versus custom
cabinets are always more affordable. The options available
to you are endless and can easily be adjusted to fit within
your budget.
The main key to holding down costs is to first decide how much
you are going to spend and then work in partnership with our
staff to determine if your home design and the items you want
in the home are within a realistic and affordable budget.
If they are, then you are ready to begin conversations about
the design and features of your new home.

How long will it take to build our new home?
A.
That depends on several factors. Once you have been approved
for financing of your new home and a contract has been signed
to move forward, permits must be obtained
from the municipality in which you are planning to build.
This can take as long as one to three weeks. Extensive
sitework and weather can also affect your building schedule.
Once these larger items have been addressed and building begins,
we like to plan on five to six months from beginning until move-in
day. Nugent Builders, Inc. employs a full time staff of
field and office professionals who have the ability to control
labor cost and can maintain an efficient project schedule.

Can you help us design a home?
A.
Yes! Nugent Builders, Inc. has designers on staff. We
design approximately 80% of the homes we build. We also
are happy to work with plans drawn by other parties, or work
from pictures you may have seen in a magazine or photos you
have taken of home designs that you like.
Q. Can you help with arranging financing
or refer me to a lender I can trust?

Yes. Nugent Builders Inc. has solid, trusted relationships with
various lending institutions and our staff will offer whatever
guidance and assistance you may need.
